Imagination is the largest domestic festival focusing on drum & bass and harder styles. The festival offers a combination of modern electronic music genres and a unique audiovisual experience on two stages. Many internationally recognized music projects, producers and DJs will always perform on unique stages during one night.
Imagination Festival first appeared on the Czech electronic music scene in the spring of 2012. Its first edition took place in the garages in Vyšehrad and was divided into a drum & bass and harder styles section. This first year attracted more than 1 visitors and laid the foundation for a fast-growing tradition. The following edition of the festival moved its venue to the Křižík Pavilions at the Prague Exhibition Center in Holešovice, where it offered performances by 500 international artists and welcomed over 10 electronic music fans. The third year of the festival was expanded by another pavilion and saw the participation of almost 3 visitors together with more than 000 foreign performers.
In 2014, Imagination moved to a more spacious area of the Prague exhibition center in Letňany, where it presented two impressive stages with advanced visualization and a light show. This edition welcomed more than 25 international artists and 6 visitors from all over Europe, significantly consolidating its position on the map of leading European music festivals. In 000, the festival returned to the Exhibition Center in Holešovice, where stars such as Netsky, Angerfist, Brennan Heart and dozens of others performed. The next year brought an innovative moving and changeable stage design and a unique intro for all DJs.
The year 2017 was one of the strongest in its history for Imagination, when it almost managed to sell out three pavilions at Výstaviště Holešovice, with legendary performers such as Pendulum, Headhunterz and Da Tweekaz. Subsequently, the festival returned to Letňany, where thanks to the space it offered an improved stage design, greater comfort for visitors and an expanded line-up. After successful years, especially in 2019 with one of the strongest drum & bass line-ups in the Czech Republic, where the legendary Noisia or several unique showcases were presented, the festival faced a one-year break due to the pandemic.
Despite the challenges, Imagination bounced back in 2021 and 2022 with performances by names like Pendulum, Spor or Camo & Krooked. However, in 2023 the festival had to be canceled again due to restrictions on the holding of musical events in PVA EXPO Letňany.
For 2024, Imagination Festival is proudly returning to the newly renovated pavilions of the Holešovice Exhibition Center, ready to once again welcome electronic music fans from all over the world and offer them an unforgettable musical experience that has defined its rich and varied history for several years.
